Our Kennel

Commits to promoting ethical practices

By conducting recommended genetic screenings for the breed and carefully selecting breeding partners to embody the most coveted traits, whether in terms of conformation or character. We continue this commitment by consistently seeking to develop and optimize the best practices in the development and socialization of our puppies.

Places great importance on knowledge sharing

By making every effort to establish a network of strong collaborators, accompanied by rich documentation, to assist anyone drawn to breeding. Through solid and ever-growing collaborations, we aspire to realize our vision of a strengthened Borzoi culture and, in turn, share our passion.

Everything is in the details

Already in the mother’s womb, we begin a process of sensitization of the puppies through ventral touch. This technique stimulates the nervous activity of the puppies.

After giving birth, the puppies are mostly left in the care of their mother for about two weeks. During this period, we stimulate their senses through gentle touches. It has been shown that early neurological stimulation of the puppies enhances their problem-solving ability, improves cardiovascular performance, and increases their tolerance to stress and diseases. The stimulation techniques we use are based on the “Bio Sensor” program of the U.S. military, which involves 5 types of stimulation:

Early neurological stimulation

Tactical stimulation

 Head held erect

Head pointed down

Supine position

Thermal stimulation

Hygiene

In order to accustom the puppies to relieve themselves on the grass, we place patches of synthetic grass inside their space. During the first two weeks, the young puppies relieve themselves upon waking up. To encourage the association of their needs with the grass, the patch is placed next to the bed, allowing for a faster assimilation. The result obtained is that by the third week, almost all the puppies relieve themselves on the grass, no matter where they are in the whelping box.

With Borzois, we begin weaning quite early, so we take great care to weigh the puppies every day to ensure that they are eating well and not losing weight!

Socialization

Socialization of the puppies

The socialization window extends from the third week to the sixteenth week. The breeder’s work is crucial in providing positive experiences for the puppy, allowing it to grow with confidence in various aspects of its life and promoting its ability to interpret and interact well with its environment.

Our breeding prioritizes the puppy’s ability to self-regulate and manage its stress, be desensitized to the crate, and be comfortable with other dogs and children.

To achieve this, we maximize the exposure to different sensory and environmental experiences and subject the puppy to exercises to raise it to these standards.

We carry out desensitization to water, darkness, crate, and various environments such as the forest, stream, car, traffic, obstacle courses, etc. We also encourage socialization with humans and animals.

A Rich and Stimulating Environment

Our 2024 program incorporates several enhancements to the facilities, providing puppies with increased opportunities to rapidly develop their problem-solving skills through interaction with their immediate environment.

These improvements aim to boost their self-confidence, stimulate their curiosity, intelligence, and physical abilities. The addition of interactive modules, bridges, ramps, obstacles, and a small maze creates a rich and stimulating environment that fosters the development of balanced, confident, and well-adjusted puppies.

Socialization of our breeding dogs

We take special care to expose our breeding dogs to various urban, rural, and natural environments from the age of 3 months.

This diversity is designed to reduce anxiety, promote mental and emotional stability, thereby strengthening their adaptability. We believe that this observed flexibility in our breeding dogs will be passed on to future generations, contributing to the positive behavioral development of upcoming litters.
